there's nothin

THERE'S NOTHING I WOULD RATHER BE DOING RIGHT NOW THAN WATCHING THE BRITNEY SPEARS SPECIAL BUT MY DAD THINKS IT'S MORE IMPORTANT TO RE-WATCH THE BOURNE SUPREMACY.

most amazing thing I've seen all year:

Melting Men ice sculptures by Brazilian artist Nele Azevedo

my mind = blown

Mad Men inside jokez

seriously you guys

I have a little bit of a confession to make; there's this dream of mine that I think about every day. I kid you not, every single day I think about it. Each day when I read the free newspaper on the train to school, I turn to the very last page, the FlightCenter seat-sales page, and I see that a plane to Vegas costs $99 round-trip.

You see, my biggest dream is to go to Vegas to see Cher's live show.

I don't know why but ever since...forever, I've loved Cher. Moonstruck and Mermaids are among my top 10 favorite movies and everything about her early days fascinates me. According to one review of her show, there are SEVENTEEN COSTUME CHANGES. That means SEVENTEEN BOB MACKIE MASTERPIECES

Sigh.

Is this turning into a "gay interests" blog? Cause I'm not gay but I do have interests...in Cher.

reminiscin'

Remember when Chris March (designer/contestant on Project Runway Season 4, the SECOND BEST season after Season 2 (the one with Santino, Daniel Vosovic and ANDRAAAAAAEEE)) made some pieces in his final collection using human hair? How FUCKING AWESOME was that? Susie Bubble's latest post about clothing made with hair reminded me of that great moment in PR history. Observe:

So fucking awesome.

Also, upon googling the hair-clothes, I turned up another creation of his that is worth mentioning: his bedazzled Vaseline jar:

So fucking awesome version 2.0

Inspired by my new favourite Tumblr, Annytime, I present you with things that make me feel cozy right now. I think everyone gets in this mood around Christmas time. I really wish we had snow here!

like the boys

Yesterday was a special day in consumerism:

1. Starbucks launched their holiday campaign (which means new crack-like addictive drinks and cute red cups with snowflakes on them! And polar bear cookies!)

2. Comme des Garcons for H&M opened

I didn't get the chance to work the opening shift OR to wait in line because I had school (and a Costume History project to present) but I did get off the train one stop early (basically right in front of H&M) so I could snap a few photos of the line-up.

The first time I worked in the morning (before we officially open) I stood at this door and knocked for 5 minutes until somebody came to get me and tell me I should phone the back office to get them to let me in next time. The second time, they were having their morning meeting right near the door and the manager didn't recognize me :( woe

The line at about 9am, 1 hour before we open.

An old man asked me if it was a sale

The Comme des Garcons t-shirt I had to wear when I worked yesterday evening. I hate uniforms.

I really wanted to check out the drop-crotch pants and get a polka dot scarf so I ventured over on my lunch break. There were a million staff around and I asked them if my pants and scarf were left, but they weren't. All that was left was really plain button-up oxford shirts and a $200 trench coat. I didn't know people in Vancouver liked drop-crotch pants?!

p.s. check out Susie Bubble's lovely video blog on the London opening

Dear Seth Rogen,

Last night you were in my dream. You were riding a sweet bicycle and wearing your glasses and this adorbs newsboy cap and I just wanted to put you in my pocket and keep you forever.

Wait, it wasn't a dream:

listen up y'all cause this is it

Listen y'all, we have to talk. It's not always easy for me to say these kinds of things but I think we're at the point in our relationship where we have to be honest with each other or else (we both know) it can't work between us. There's one thing about you that really bugs me: blog comment word verification. It's silently tearing us apart. I like you a lot and I know you can change. Getting this out on the table is the first step. The next steps are described below:

2. Go to the "Settings" tab on your blog.
3. Select the "Comments" tab within the Settings tab.
4. Scroll down to Show word verification for comments? and select "No."
5. Buy me a bouquet of pretty daisies.
6. All better!

So it's up to you. I know this can work.

show me your desktop bitches*

I couldn't pick one

*disclaimer: bitches, in this context, also includes the males i love u

lifeblog

so I forgot to tell y'all (I'm so ~private~) that I got a job at H&M! My first day was ummmm last Thursday and shit's pretty legit. It has been my favourite store since I was in grade 10 and I never dreamed I would work there but alas here I am! I'm in the Men's department (the best department ever, everyone tries to get transfered there) and it's basically just folding and tidying all the clothes that people mess up. It's definitely a no-brainer.

NEXT THURSDAY November 13th, the Comme des Garcons line comes out!!! I wish I could work it because it seems so exciting but I have class that day. I do however have to work a closing shift which means I have to clean up the disaster that crazy fashionphiles leave after tearing through it. I'm SURE you've seen the photos all over every blog:

FUN FACT: When I went for my interview they asked me if I knew which designer collaboration they had coming up. Of course I did so I told them and added that I'm so excited because it looks so great. They were like "?!?! You've seen it?" and I said "Ya it's all over the blogs!" and they were like omg.

Amanda Bynes I love you

But we've gotta talk shop about those boots and that frayed denim mini. Don't do this to me.
