rubber - lou doillon

I'm not usually one to gush over one particular person but LOU DOILLON, am I right? Just saw this video on Garance Doré and was struck with how /COOL/ she is. I've always admired her style but video captures a person much more accurately. That's sometimes bad for impressions but in this case it's good.

moody bored

Don't gloomy, cloudy days seem like the best days to make a mood board? Do you like my punny title?
Gotta have: cropped, messy hair, lips the colour of fallen leaves, army jackets, feminine charm, and contemplative stares. It's my fall look, duh.

it's a lot better if you don't watch the video

I remember when Sky Ferreira was just an underage fixture at LA parties. Not that I grew up in LA or have even ever been there (everything is embarrassing, indeed) but me and my friends — mainly Pullteeth— were exposed to pictures of her with big dark circles around her eyes hanging off of other hangers-on via The Cobrasnake.

Now she and no doubt a team of star-makers have taken her messy hair, dark eyes, and Olsen-twin ressemblance to another level to turn her into a popstar. Is it unfair to introduce her and define her here by her looks? Totally, because I think her voice is pretty decent and this charming interview on Rookie tells me that she was first noticed for her cover of Miike Snow’s “Animal” and her own song “One" so there's that.

What was my point again? Oh yeah, this new song and video. The song is great, dreamy, 80's, minimal, flossy in the cotton-candy sort of way. The video is horrendous. So I guess I went from being interested (mildly, very mildly) in Sky Ferreira's looks to only being interested in her sound. As a musician she won, but as a popstar she's lost me with this embarrassing video. ANYWAY. Just watch it?
