update
i am wearing glasses a sailor hat and antlers as a shoulder piece
and my bags are being delivered in TWO HOURSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
thanks for all your kind Air Canada bashing. I never fly Air Canada but it was cheaper than West Jet for the day I wanted to go and it sucks. Maybe I'm just childish and corny at heart but I LOVE the jokes they tell on West Jet flights, are you guys KIDDING ME?!

packalackin'
Three things are needed when (over)packing for a trip back to one's homeland:
-Wine
-Robyn
-Facebook:
I'm flying to Winnipeg tomorrow for two weeks for winter holidays. There will be plenty of the above: debauchery, dancing, middle fingers, photobooths, wine and funny faces.
SEE YOU SWEET PALS IN ONE DAY. CAN'T WAIIIIIIIIIIIIT
ps. sorry I don't have any pictures of the boys. We need a family pic when I get back.

blargh -Liz Lemon
Apparently airports across the country (including Vancouver Airport) are backed up and cancelling/delaying tons of domestic flights which means that lots of people won't be home for Christmas. That totally sucks. I really hope it clears up before the 27th when I'm scheduled to fly to Winnipeg for two weeks.

the fruits of my labour
This is my 200th post! And it's a special, celebratory post. This is regarding the reason posting has been kind of slow this past few weeks: SCHOOL HOMEWORK PROJECTS FINISHING THE FIRST SEMESTER OF FASHION SCHOOL. Before I started, I had no experience with drawing/painting at ALL. I drew people with heads that were 1/4 of their bodies (in case you can't tell, like I couldn't, that's very WRONG and disproportionate...) I honestly sucked and had no confidence in my abilities but with the help of an amazingly talented illustration teacher, my drawing/painting is on the up and up! I learned so much in just the first week with her. You can't teach talent (and I don't think I have the "it" factor when it comes to drawing) but you can teach skills. So here are some pictures of my final projects for Costume History and Illustration classes. I AM SO RELIEVED I'M FINISHED MY FIRST SEMESTER YOU HAVE NO IDEA. Click to enlarge these bad boyz
Costume History: We had to design two looks inspired by three different historical periods. I chose Early Europe (medieval), Greek and Rococo (18th Century, think Marie Antoinette). See above for some pictures of the influences. These were done with marker.
Illustration: We had to design a collection of 5 swimsuits based on one of two themes that we chose in class. It was between "Nautical" and "Vegas". I had to pick the two themes because nobody in my class is decisive. I did Vegas. These were with watercolour.
Costume History (again): Design two looks based on the Empire period (think empire waists, floaty sheer fabric)
anyways, I'm pretty proud with how it all turned out despite having to pull some late nights and stuff. I can't wait to get better and start to develop my own style of fash illustration.

i think i think i think
HELLO CREATURES. I thought that after a semi-hiatus from posting, you would all be most delighted by a picture of me in my new jaunty cocktail hat. I would never deny you delight and as such have attached the photo in question.
Don't I look very "je ne sais quoi" and "a propos" and "en vogue" as the french say? I plan to wear this with a vintage dress I recently purchased and my new lipstick, Media by MAC to our work Christmas party. The theme is JAZZ IT UP (what?) and one of my favourite employees in the men's department plans to wear a peacock feather in some capacity. Also, before the party a few of us are venturing to an Austrian's home to drink some Austrian Punsch (yes, with an 's') which was explained to me as a version of mulled with with rum and fruit added for good measure. But of course.
P.S. Follow my blog with bloglovin if you're into that sort of thing...

U.W.S. : unidentified wacky shit
Recently somebody found my blog by googling
"create your hats and guns and post them on myspace"
if you click you will see that with that query, my blog comes up first. Now let us hypothesize re: what this person was thinking...

window-Christmas-shopping for friends, version 1.0
I got sucked into FredFlare.com again. I have decided that Fred Flare is the antithesis of the "economic crisis" because it only sells the most TRIVIAL and UNNESSESARY things, ie: luxuries. And because, unlike with the economy, I actually WANT to spend time thinking about Fred Flare.
I was feeling generous and thoughtful this evening so I decided to pick out "Christmas presents" for my friends. Disclaimer guys: you aren't going to find these wrapped up and under your tree this year. I wish that A) I had a credit card with which to shop on the interwebz and B) I could afford to purchase all these lovely things for you. I hope just seeing them and knowing that I was thinking of you is enough (until we meet irl again at Christmas break).
ENJOY, in anti-alphabetical order:
Jeanine: Lovely, whimsical blouse because it screams YOU. Peacock feather earrings because either I lost one of them when I borrowed them or YOU lost one of them because your ear holes are big. Can't remember!
Chantal: Rollerskates with pink weels because they look just like your skating skates and remind me of you. Cutest dress because the sweetheart neckline is your fave and cherry red is your colour.
Bryn: Tennis racket cover with lame expression on it for when you're at Wimbledon. You could even put your badminton racket in it! Weird navy/shiny brocade dress because it's awesome and reminded me of your grad dress but more every-day appropriate.

Andrew: Fake mustaches because you can't grow the real thing (and desperately wish you could!) and a Holga. Because, duh, you dream of Holga.
I just KNOW I'll be trolling Fred Flare the next spare minute I get so maybe I'll make some window-shopping-gifts for my favourite bloggers. Stay tuuuuuuuuuuned

THERE'S NOTHING I WOULD RATHER BE DOING RIGHT NOW THAN WATCHING THE BRITNEY SPEARS SPECIAL BUT MY DAD THINKS IT'S MORE IMPORTANT TO RE-WATCH THE BOURNE SUPREMACY.

seriously you guys
I have a little bit of a confession to make; there's this dream of mine that I think about every day. I kid you not, every single day I think about it. Each day when I read the free newspaper on the train to school, I turn to the very last page, the FlightCenter seat-sales page, and I see that a plane to Vegas costs $99 round-trip.
You see, my biggest dream is to go to Vegas to see Cher's live show.
I don't know why but ever since...forever, I've loved Cher. Moonstruck and Mermaids are among my top 10 favorite movies and everything about her early days fascinates me. According to one review of her show, there are SEVENTEEN COSTUME CHANGES. That means SEVENTEEN BOB MACKIE MASTERPIECES
Sigh.
Is this turning into a "gay interests" blog? Cause I'm not gay but I do have interests...in Cher.
