Dry Shampoo Update: Batiste XXL Volume

So, I've found it. The holy grail of all dry shampoos! As a shower-hater, my quest has been ongoing since before my last post (in 2010!) on dry shampoos for the ultimate in dirty-hair-disguising weird, powdery sprays. In my last post I declared Batiste the winner, and after two years I stand by that declaration.

What I do have to update you on, however, is my new discovery of Batiste Volume XXL Dry Shampoo. The thing about the basic Batiste is that it works as a dry shampoo, but you still have to do some work to style your day-or-two-old hair into an eye-pleasing and self-confidence-inducing coiffure.  Wow, that was a lot of hyphens. ANYWAY, this new Batiste (or new to me, at least) acts as a styling product and a dry shampoo! It's amazing! Behold:

I didn't expect it to work so palpably, so instantaneously, so damn well. The moment I sprayed it, as I've sprayed the classic Batiste so many times before, I felt my hair gain this fantastic gritty, maleable quality akin to having heat-styled it with gallons of hairspray the night before for some big event and then sleeping on it. I took the above picture first thing in the morning and as the day has worn on, the effect has only gotten better, grittier, grungier, and more voluminous. As someone with thick, heavy, slippery hair, this stuff is a godsend.

I found it at a drug store in Canada called London Drugs and I've also seen it at Shoppers Drug Mart. Get some and get your Veronica Sawyer/Twin Peaks/Cindy Crawford/Valley Of the Dolls on!
