Totally kicking myself right about now for cutting my hair because I would rock this hairstyle every day if I hadn't. It's perfectly messy and girly at the same time.

hairy part 2

The title "hairy" kind of makes me think of pubes? Ok sorry to gross everybody out before I post pictures of my HAIR on my HEAD. Here goes...

And now for the pictures of my own cut! I have much thicker hair than hers but Ruby thinned it out lots so I hope that lasts...

I think I like it with a little texture in it more than straight and sleek, what do you think? This also bring me to another question:

Does anybody have any product recommendations for shorter hair? Stuff that will make my waves stand out and texturize everything?

hairy part 1

For the past week or so, I've been consumed with thoughts of a new hairstyle. When I have these ideas, you know, ideas that are actually do-able and not something like "HEY, DYE YOUR HAIR PINK, YOU'RE ONLY YOUNG ONCE", they become all I can think of. I decided to book a hair appointment upon finding the perfect cut-inspiration: Ashley Olsen's bob.

So today I went in for my appointment (to the lovely Rubi at Hennessey Salon+Spa, Oakridge) with this collage in hand:



Yeah, saying I went a little overboard is an understatement...I literally scoured google images and getty images for every appearance she ever made with that hair. You know, so I could see how she styled it/how it...moved?

Anyway, spoiler alert, it turned out really nice. I'm super pleased with the results, and plan on posting pictures tomorrow! SEE, being totally obsessive and overbearing with your hair stylist pays off!

burnt toast

For the past week, the smell of "burning" has been with me wherever I go. For lack of a better way to explain it, I have been constantly smelling fire or "burnt" everywhere. It sort of smells like campfire and burnt milk all at once. It's kind of a gross and intriguing smell all at once.

Today on my lunch break I walked over to this vintage store by the office with a work friend and confessed to her that I can't shake the "burning" smell. I asked her if she could smell it and she said "no" and she also said "are you having a seizure?" (remember this?) Obviously I wasn't, but it has really been bothering me!

I looked up "smell burning" on WebMD (a favourite tool of hypochondriacs the world over) and those keywords only brought up results about Carbon Monoxide Poisoning which, obviously, is not my problem.

Finally, while laying in my room listening to music and writing postcards, I resigned myself to the fact that the burning smell will always be present in my day to day activities and I will learn to love it. Then, I asked my mom to smell my hair; "I think it's your hair." I do too. As you can see, being a girl is tough stuff.
